J.Cole "Grew Up Fast"

Damn. J.Cole had a good 2011 and this new joint shows he's not falling off this year either. Dig that David Ruffin sample too.

DOOM vs Jadakiss

Imagine a universe where Madlib, DOOM and Jadakiss all hopped in the lab together. Is what you just imagined as cool as what Madlib did? Bacon crisp organ beat is the foundation of this little remix picked up via Passion of the Weiss.

Scatter Brain

A1R is a new label headed up by Gonjasufi and Sound in Color co-founder Jon Ancheta. Their specialty will lie at the confluence of psychedelia, hip hop, soul, electronic and dirt. Get more info on the label here, or put this Scatter Brain track in your ear. The beat is grounded in a thick library sample and SB rips it up like a lost member of Black Knightz.

A.Dd+ "Sh*t Got Crazy"

This dynamic duo from Dallas is doing their damn thing. On this free track, they offer sage lessons on the danger of excess...or they had a Valentine's night and decided to make a song about it.

[Video] Baby Baby - "Haters"

Baby Baby are one of the best young rock bands in the Southeast. They put on a killer live show, often without wearing pants. Straight out of Carrolton.
Their new video includes sad clowns, grown folks shoving children, no-pants dance parties on a train, bicycle gangs and highway jam sessions. F*ck yes, gentlemen.

Soundtrack for space pimpin'

If your Caddy has rocket boosters, you know what this is about:

Killa Mike x El-P

This is the first track off Killer Mike's new album. If this is the jump off, then the rest of the album must be even more epic, or total shit. This first leak, "Big Beast' features contributions from T.I., Bun B, and Trouble.

Night Beats

The Night Beats will be rocking the Larimer Lounge on 3/7 and if you're into thrashy psychedlia (think Black Lips proteges) and live in the Denver area, then you don't want to miss this.

Ahu - To:Love

Found this quirky gem via an email blast from Alex Chase's One-Handed Music. It's a bittersweet, sci-fi circus of regret and longing. Mondays...

[Video] Willie Evans Jr. "Nerd English"

Some of the hottest hip hop out of Duval County. Jacksonville in the house with some illness. Willie Ev rips it up. Dealing D&D dice like dime bags. Check out the whole album here.

[Video] Blu "Jesus"

Blu kills this groovy Madlib beat that's a straight classic. The LP is out on Nature Sounds. Grab it.

Lyrics2Go Vol. 2

The newest edition of Lyrics2Go is out today. Recorded during Atlanta's A3C festival (without a doubt one of the Southeast's finest hip hop events), it features all sorts of folks you know and a bunch you might not...

I'm feeling this joint with J-Live and Ekundayo...all smooth everything...

Check out the whole project here + download.

Whygee - I Need $

Some new hotness straight from the Mile High. Hazy afternoon smoothness. Whygee with the words + Qknox on the beats.

Big Bill Hell

This has got to be some sort of greatest night ever for a copy writer and video editor from a Baltimore network affiliate sometime circa 1987. It became a viral video back in the days of VHS amongst tape swappers and found footage geeks. I first saw it on a Lost & Found compilation by Chunklet Magazine maybe 7 or 8 years ago. I didn't realize it was on YouTube until tonight. I just never even thought to look for it. This is definitely NSFW due to language, but if you don't wet your pants laughing, then we're not friends.
