Default Champion
Sometimes, when you're driving around the middle of nowhere, you need some hypnotic post-rock goodness to get lost in thought for a few minutes. If you like Tortoise or Godspeed You Black Emperor then you're down with this.

Killer Mike "Reagan"
One of my favorite hip hop songs of recent memory. No jive. If you're not on that El-P x Killer Mike R.A.P. Music, you need to be. Politics and hip hop are inextricably intertwined, regardless of what Wayne or Gucci says. Reaganomics is a major part of hip hop's origin. Understand that.
Ski Beatz
Not a household name, except among hip hop heads, Ski Beatz did a bunch of production for Jay-Z's Reasonable Doubt. Yeah, it's like that. He's been busy lately. This project, Endless Summer, with Tabi Bonney is slick, and there's an EP with Camp Lo he just did. I'm really feeling the opening tune, "On Jupiter."

Birds and Batteries
I first saw Birds and Batteries a couple years ago at the Art Bar in Columbia, SC while they were touring with Great American/Low Red Land (RIP). They've made some lineup changes over the years, but the end results are steadily improving. This new tune is sort of Gary Numan on nitrous oxide...
TNGHT "Buggn"

Force Publique
Stumbled across Force Publique after Alex from ManCub mentioned working with James Wayne (1/2 of FP) in an interview. This is from a 2010 demo and it lands in the confluence of Joy Division and Adult. Electro-post-punk with an appropriately grimy texture. I'm loving the first track, "Ache."
