Ross x Dre x Jay

Monster. Jake One on the beat.

SoulJazz Orchestra

Who knew Ottowa got down like this? A lot of classic Afro-Caribbean influence. They've got an album out 9/17 on Strut Records.

TNGHT

Boom. Lunice and Hudson Mohawke are killing it. Thanks for the tip Evster.

Daughters of Eve

Chicago's preeminent all-girl garage band from the late '60s.

For a comprehensive history of the band and their place in the Chicago scene, check out this post.

Goer "Cove"

Denver's indie-electro duo Goer dropped a new EP, Cove, their 3rd of this year if I remember correctly. It's definitely worth a listen. The guys really have a much more fleshed out sound on this record. The first tune, "Floats Above Water," is a perfect example.

They've also enlisted the help of some local producers to provide remixes, both of which turned out dope.

Surp.

Welcome to the immediacy of the internet. I'm guessing dude just had a relationship end recently, like sometime last week. Song is dope.

Check out his ep here.

Marshall Trotter "Someone Like You"

Nice tune from former Savannahian Marshall Trotter. I still jam songs by Hula Hoop and several of his other previous projects. This one is a sentimental summer jam puppy love pop tune. Check out his album

"Peanut Butter Leather"

A hazy summer rider from Huntsville heroes G-Side.

ManOnWire

Some hot beats from a British producer. If I rapped, I'd get on this.

A Sol Mechanic

New tune from A Sol Mechanic. A real chill groove, sort of like a future beat take on the Beta Band.

Logic "BackPack"

Muuurdering that "Fish n Grits" beat. The way his flow flips is crazy.

Nas x Amy Winehouse

Terry Urban mashes up some summer heat.

Knife "That Zone"

Nobody spits like Knife. He's killing this Neptunes beat. Dope Sandwich.

Kitten "Cut It Out" (Kastle Remix)

This track was blowing up soundcloud when I signed on earlier. It's pretty tight. Sort of a dubby, trip hop track with post-Ratatat synth work and indie guitars topped with the breathy vocal track from the original.

Joey Bada$$ "Waves"

This kid might've been born in the mid-90s but clearly he took the time to get schooled on classic hip hop. (via 2DB)
