The DJ set by Boca 45 for the opening of Banksy's Dismaland. Dope.

Finest Ego - UK/Ireland

These Finest Ego compilations have been touring the world finding great future beat, space hop, wonk-y type stuff and packaging it up for easy consumption. The New Zealand/Australia comp they did was dope too. It's sort of surprising they're just getting around to the UK, considering how parts of it have been a wellspring of great electronic music recently. Unless you are super down with underground beats, these are all people you've never heard of, but who definitely deserve to be heard. Check it out here, available via download and cassette tape on Aug. 5.

Ambassadeurs

This beat is dope. Plus extra points for the clever typo. Get more action from Fat Cat Records. Download the track by clicking on the arrow button.

Keep Sweet Mixtape

A funky uptempo mix from the UK's Good Groove Records. The mix has been around since '09, but they finally made it downloadable via soundcloud.

Remarc - Sound Murderer

This is one of my favorite jungle tracks of all-time. It's old...like 90s era...

This sound is going to come back around later this year or early in 2012...Drum & Bass is about prime for a good run of popularity - right after dubstep starts to pop up in mainstream pop. Seriously. Just wait. I was in a drive thru chinese restaurant the other day (I chose to eat in rather than drive thru) and the Versus outdoors channel was on the TV - there was an LFO modulated bass (sound) in a track during a bass (animal) fishing show. No joke. Just the backing track during a computer graphic interlude about bass (animal) in Florida....WahWahWahWahWaaaaaahhh.

Malachai "Rainbows"

Check out the new video for Malachai's new single "Rainbows" off their forthcoming album Return to the Ugly Side (due out 2/22/11). These guys from Bristol have a way of blending 60s psych-pop with a certain post-trip hop sensibility that I find very appealing musically.

Download a copy of the single here, or check out their debut album.

Tranqill

This is nice. I haven't gotten too excited about much UK hip hop recently (the exception being Soundspecies), but Tranqill seems like something special.
