Hot vs. Dope

J-Live's new mixtape is worth your time.

"As I Start (over)"

Doooope.

Lyrics2Go Vol. 2

The newest edition of Lyrics2Go is out today. Recorded during Atlanta's A3C festival (without a doubt one of the Southeast's finest hip hop events), it features all sorts of folks you know and a bunch you might not...

I'm feeling this joint with J-Live and Ekundayo...all smooth everything...

Check out the whole project here + download.

New J-Live Mixtape

This guy might be one of the most hip hop embodying human beings on the face of the planet. Rocks the mic, the mix and the beat machine. Go ahead and grab this for free and appreciate how he's still dope after more than 15 years of the music grind.

Wriggly Scott x J-Live

A new joint off DJ Solo/Wriggly Scott's debut EP, out May 2. Dude seems to be reppin' Dubai...beats are smooth classic joints. Hip hop is a global phenomenon.
Parts Unknown ft. J-Live by DJ Solo/Wriggly Scott

J-Live's new single

The new track off his upcoming SPTA album...The Diamond D beat is dope, and J-Live definitely laces up the verses.

He will also be in Savannah in March for Stopover

J-Live is nice

Seriously. He's ill. At A3C, I saw him rap and DJ at the same time - cutting up the beat while he ripped it. If rap money were a meritocracy, he'd have Oprah's dough.

Support him financially if you appreciate the artistry.

Comcast Presents ATL hip hop documentary series

I've got to hand it to Comcast, even though I get mad at them sometimes when my internet service drops out, they do an interesting job of mixing it up in different communities. They've been solid supporters of AWOL for awhile, including donating soundproofing to set up the studio for our Sound Design program, and helping fix up the St. Pius Family Resource Center on Comcast Cares Day last May.

Now they're apparently putting together a hip hop documentary series. Makes me wish I could bankroll some digital cable service...I've got big enough problems with TV as time vampire though.
