Odonis Odonis
Odonis Odonis is on FatCat, a label with good ears in my opinion - really nailing a quality spectrum of rock iterations and sub-species. This here is crafted in the tradition of distorted surf-psych. The meltdown toward the end is spacey, bottoming out a thoroughly driving groove.
Odonis Odonis - Ledged Up by Fat Cat Records
If you like this, you should also definitely be listening to the Crocodiles and Abby GoGo.

Crocodiles' Fires of Comparison
The Crocodiles 2009 album, Summer of Hate
, was one of my favorite albums of the year. A gritty, wall-of-sound meets punk-infused, psychedelic jamboree of catchy tunes that harkens back to the anti-pop of the middle 80s.
Their follow up, Sleep Forever, will see the light of day September 14. To get everyone excited, they leaked this 4-track instrumental EP called Fires of Comparison.
Here's the title track.

Crocodiles "Sleep Forever"
This image bears no relation to the following message, other than in file name.
The Crocodiles are releasing a new single, with an album soon to follow. The duo is complimented by a full band this time around and the effects are poignant. It's like Phil Spector Wall of Sound era Beach Boys but grungier, and with a little more Brian Jonestown Massacre heroin chic.
"Sleep Forever"
The single, which will be released as a 7" b/w "Groove Is In the Heart/California Girls" comes out August 17 on Fat Possum. The full-length comes out September 14. Mark your calendar.
