Outkast

Just got tickets to see Outkast in Denver this summer as part of the lineup for Mad Decent's block party. Dope. This Mick Brooklyn mix is a nice retrospective of rarities, gems and features.

Week of K.R.I.T.

Big K.R.I.T. is scattering jewels all over the internet. One day premiering an exclusive on Spin, the next on Complex, etc. This smooth gem really caught my ear.

ST 2 Lettaz

Drift to this. Realest space raps you ever heard. 1/2 of G-Side. Block Beattaz on the track. Lot of people sleeping on Huntsville.

"Can't You See"

Red Bull sponsored this A.Dd+ track produced by NickNack. Super smooth.

G-Side "Island"

The new album from the Huntsville, AL duo is up on their bandcamp page. If you like real hip hop, don't think the South is only serving up K.R.I.T. to rattle the wood paneling in your caddy. These guys are on next - even NPR gives them shine. Definitely give "Look Up" a listen...

KJunya "Take Me Back"

It's not a proper video by any stretch of the imagination, but the track is ridiculous. If you ever listened to Tupac, you might be feeling this...seriously...it's like that Savannah. Go here to download a copy (Use this link if you re-post; please do not re-host the file)

K.Junya

This young fellow has got more potential than just about any young MC I've worked with in the last several years. He can write, he has excellent stage presence - he's talented. AWOL all day. This was recorded over the summer, but I just got around to giving it a rough mix.

IMakeMadBeats x Butta Verses

Some more of the other south right here. First heard about IMakeMadBeats when he came through Savannah a few years ago. Did the beat for what became Dope Sandwich's "Oh Lordy" - he's been out and about with Roc C and a bunch of other folks. Here he joins forces with Butta Verses from down around Florida.

FKi "Red Cups"

Here's a party banger for the summer. Atlanta's FKi are making some moves down South. If you missed their Blue Steel 2.0 mixtape a few months ago, definitely find a copy of that. Creative production, fun and some Zoolander references, how can you go wrong?
They just dropped this new song "Red Cups"
