Another great release from Denver's Dirty//Clean Records. Some great bass music that really digs into a lot of different veins at once - the opening tune, "I'z Flown" touches on dub, ghetto-tech and glitch before crunching itself into oblivion.

Checkers "Leisure Sports" EP

Bocce ball, croquet, lawn darts -- who doesn't love leisure time activities. Denver-based producer Checkers' debut EP is equally great, straddling dub traditions and progressive IDM theoretics. 

Past Paste EP

 I've decided to open up the vaults and release some new/old tunes. Over the next couple weeks, I'll unveil a couple of EPs and singles that haven't been released elsewhere, things recorded sometime between 2007 and 2012 in four apartments and at least two states.
The reason it's all in smaller formats - rather than one whole album - is because it's fairly diverse, and some of it just wouldn't work together. The first in the series is call the Past Paste EP. It's experimental downtempo - although that ranges from some dark, deep, non-traditional dubstep to some glitchy off-kilter beats. Enjoy.

Soon Is So Far Away (Redux)

 The folks at Blunt Guts Nation have just put up this collection of remixes, and they are worth checking out. Lots of mellow, spacey vibes (the first joint will hit with fans of Erykah Badu's Madlib collab). This Blind Prophet remix caught my attention for it's chill dubstep vibe. Nice early set track to get the heads nodding.

Diplo x Lil Jon

I'm left wishing Lil Jon's contribution had been a little more content-rich (I know, what should I expect?). Sometimes, I'm too cerebral for club-destroying anthems like this, however, I'm not so dense as to fail to recognize that this song is ridiculously tough.

Sub Swara

If you're on a laptop, do yourself a favor a plug it into speakers worthy of tune this epic. Massive dubstep banger with a soft ambient accent that makes me nostalgic for Aphex Twin during the late 90s.

UNKLE ft. Lupe Fiasco

Wow. This track is a monster. UNKLE puts some sweat into the dubstep/wonk/bass movement (which really needs to figure out what its name is asap) and ices the cake with a cameo from Lupe, who's running lyrical laps around your favorite rapper right now.

Specimen A

Specimen A are on some serious bass. Here they flip Foreigner's 'Cold As Ice' into a real dubstep banger. The original is already pretty over the top. I challenge these guys to take on something a little less expectable - like the way "Hard Knock Life" turned little orphan Annie into a street anthem. Granted, this tune will burn up the spot, but it's time to raise the degree of difficulty.
