Big shouts out to the Savannah folks behind this gem. Bob Jones on the camera and editing + Angel and the two Brians (Cusses) for kicking out the jams. Rawwwk. Cusses debut album will be out later this year and it's going to be off the chain.

Cusses "The Wait is Over"
If you have any contact with the rock n roll scenes in Georgia or the Carolinas, you might be familiar with Cusses. The Savannah trio seems to be friends with myriad awesome bands from Florida to Virginia, and they recently went up to Asheville, NC to record their first album under the guidance of Dan Hannon (who's worked with Manchester Orchestra, among others).
For those that have been familiar with the band, the lengthy pursuit of recorded material able to capture their incredible live show, and the fact that they leaked "The Wait is Over," might just be a coincidence, but I prefer to think that it is a declarative statement. Here, finally, is a song you can enjoy without having to go out past 10 p.m.
[Update] Cusses' drummer Brian Lackey says it was only a 24-hour preview, so now you'll have to wait until 2012 for the album release...

The Dirty Covers compilation
Jeremiah Stuard (of Savannah-based band HOWLER and t-shirt designer/printers WABCO) has assembled an impressive compilation of really eclectic cover songs by a really eclectic set of Savannah acts like Dare Dukes (folky-alt-rock), Magic Places + Britt Scott (electronic), Cusses (Dance-Punk), Black Tusk (swamp metal) and many many more (including a re-edit of mine).
The album release will be at the Jinx on July 27, in conjunction with Rock N Roll Bingo. It's gonna be awesome.

Stopover Sessions #1.5
Another segment of the video from the inaugural Savannah Stopover Sessions at Meddin Studios. Shot and edited by the infamous Bob Jones, who is equal parts man and machine and starring Cusses. I make a very brief cameo, including a comment at the end of the video.

Stopover Sessions #1
Local rockers Cusses came out to Meddin last week to record the first-ever Savannah Stopover Session - it was supposed to be a dry run, but Cusses was so awesome that these couldn't stay hidden for long. Normally, thrashy and raucous, this was the last song of the evening, and in honor of the first Stopover Session, also the first time Cusses had done an acoustic number.

This is a photo of Angel from Cusses' show at the Jinx a week or two ago. It was packed. They are undoubtedly the most beloved local band at the moment. Awesome live show.

Green me up Scotty
If you're in Savannah for the country's second largest St. Paddy's day celebration, and you're tired of mediocre Zeppelin covers, go spend time at Hangfire where lots of good bands will be playing, including Sunglasses, Howler and Cusses. DJ starts at 5pm, music begins around 7. It'll give you something to sway along with after drinking all day.
